I read in a devotional today that prayer begins with God. At first I had to think about it, and then I remember Jesus giving us the “model prayer” in his teachings. “Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.” In Jesus teaching his disciples to pray, he told them to start by worshiping God.
How often do our prayers start with selfish questions, request, motivations?
Our prayers are often so short that the can only include our quick request of need. However, we need to realize that our prayers do start with God and should start with glorifying him. He is worthy of all of our praise.
And that’s how it looks from here, in a nut shell.
